As I indicated last month the emphasis is on the Feel Great part of the program. No one wants a summer filled with the denial and deprivation that comes with traditional dieting. And for the record traditional dieting does not work for long term success. Weight loss isn’t just a matter of calories in and calories out and too much exercise can be counter productive.

These are  just some of the newer findings we are learning today. Here’s another one Fat, Healthy Fat that is, can be a dieter’s best friend. All this is hard to accept, but the facts are there. Dr Mark Hyman’s new book, Eat Fat Get Thin does a great job of presenting these findings and cites 21 pages of studies to support them. That’s what I like about his books.

However, I don’t want to focus on the Lose Weight part of the Program for now. So back to the Feel Great part. In my last post I emphasized celebrating all that summer has to offer you,  from luscious fresh fruits and vegetables to the longer days and softer nights that allow time to slow down and r e l a x. De stressing is a huge part of feeling great. Being good to yourself is important. Making the time for ME TIME is key.

You don’t have to book a week at a Spa in Costa Rica. Instead, try slipping away in the evening for just twenty minutes of ME Time. Soak in the tub with some Epsom Salts and a little Lavender Oil. That’s not only de-STRESSING, but de- TOXING and sleep IMPROVING. Less stress, fewer toxins and better sleep all lead to feeling great and in fact, also lead to losing weight.
